Bio:
Prof. Larue research interests are 18th-century French literature and philosophy (Voltaire, Rousseau, Restif de la Bretonne), as well as history of ideas, especially the history of vegetarianism and veganism. He is the author of Le Végétarisme et ses ennemis (2015), Le Véganisme (2017, with Valéry Giroux), and Le Végétarisme des Lumières (2019). With Flora Amann and Benoît Melançon, he was the editor of a journal volume about Rousseau’s influence on today’s philosophy and anthropology: “Rousseau 2019” (Sens public, 2019). More recently, he edited an encyclopedia of veganism titled La Pensée végane (2020).
